The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has appointed a consultant for the Versova Dahisar connector. The BMC will spend Rs 74.15 crore for consultancy on the mega project. The consultant will help BMC conduct the tender process, prepare a detailed plan and prepare documents for the land acquisition and various permissions. The civic body has also extended the date for the submission of the bid for construction of the project. The connector between Versova and Dahisar, which is part of the Mumbai Coastal Road project, would cost around Rs 35,121 crore, including the cost of land acquisition and taxes. Commerce ministry data showed that India exported smartphones worth $4.67 billion in April-July this fiscal year, of which the United States accounted for one-third of the shipments in value terms. During April-July 2023-24, smartphone exports soared by 99.52% over April-July 2022-23.  During the first four months of the current fiscal year 2024, export of the smartphones to the United States jumped multifold to $1.67 billion against $284.6 million a year ago, the commerce ministry data showed. In 2030, Mumbai is expected to clock housing sales worth Rs 2 trillion, it added Residential sales in Mumbai are likely to cross Rs 1 trillion in 2023 and may breach the Rs 2 trillion mark in 2030 due to rising demand, a report released on Friday showed.
