The Mumbai Police announced on Wednesday that they have recovered all three weapons used in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The weapons include an Australian-made Glock pistol, a Turkish pistol, and a country-made pistol.
Siddique was shot and killed outside his son’s office in Nirmal Nagar on October 12. So far, four suspects have been arrested: Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, Gurmail Baljit Singh, Pravin Lonkar, and Harishkumar Balakram.
According to sources, the accused had been scouting the crime scene on a bike but were injured in the process. On the day of the murder, they used an autorickshaw, and police are now searching for the driver. The suspects waited at the location for around 30 to 45 minutes before launching the attack.
Over the past 25 to 30 days, the suspects had been observing Siddique’s house and office in Mumbai. On the day of the murder, two of the accused changed shirts just a few meters from the crime scene to avoid identification.
The police also discovered that Lonkar had transferred Rs 60,000 to Harish, who then bought an old bike for Rs 32,000 in Pune. The bike, an Apache, was later brought to Mumbai and used in the crime. Police have seized the bike from Kurla and continue to investigate the case. Additionally, they are on the lookout for a third shooter involved in the murder.
