Among these remarkable idols is the towering 31-ft Khetwadi Chi Aai of Khetwadi 12th Lane, paying tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji on the 350th anniversary of his coronation.
The idol of Khetwadi Chi Aai wields an impressive array of weapons, including a mace, sword, and trident, portraying her in the formidable Ashtabhuja (eight-armed) form.
Organized by Avinash Kirve, the tableau of Mumbaichi Mauli is intricate and draws inspiration from Lord Krishna, depicting the narrative of Lord Krishna’s triumph over the serpent demon Kaliya.
The arrival procession followed a vehicle with DJ and speaker setup in Parel area of the city for the festival that will culminate with Dussehra on October 24.
A group of ‘vadaks’ (musician), dressed in traditional Maharashtrian outfit, were spotted playing dhol & tasha as the procession moved towards pandal.
