The Delhi CM also says if AAP MLAs are afraid of going to prison ‘for the betterment of the country’, they should consider severing ties with the party.
On the heels of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said independent India has yet to see a Prime Minister more insecure, corrupt and least educated as Narendra Modi.
In a tweet, Kejriwal termed Rahul’s expulsion from the Lok Sabha “shocking” and argued that the country was going through “very difficult times” and 130 crore citizens had to “unite against their arrogant power”.
Addressing the media, he said he believes in the “judiciary, but we don’t agree with the judgment in this case”. “It doesn’t matter if I have a good relationship with Congress or not… they (BJP) have created fear in every single person, even more than the British…”
He said that what is happening in the country today is dangerous. “By eliminating the opposition, these people (the BJP) want to create an environment of one nation, one party, which is called dictatorship. My appeal to the countrymen is that we have to come together, save democracy and the country.”
Tearing into the PM, the CM said, “From morning to evening, he only thinks about who should be sent to jail, whose membership I should end…”
Speaking in the Delhi Assembly earlier in the day, he said the BJP government will arrest anyone who speaks against them. “Abhi Rahul Gandhi ka sadsyatha tum logon ne samapt kardi… darte ho yaar tum log, bahut darpok nikle tum to. Bharat ke sabse bhrasht pradhan mantri agar koi hua hai to, Bharat ke itihas main sabse kam padha likha pradhan mantri koi hua hai to, mai nahi samajhta azad Bharat main koi 12th pass pradhan mantri nahi hua hai. (You people have now disqualified Rahul Gandhi. You people are so afraid, you have turned out to be cowards. If there was a most corrupt Prime Minister… the least educated in the history of India… I don’t think Independent India has had a PM who is a Class XII graduate.”
Alleging that the “country is being destroyed under Modi’s leadership”, Kejriwal appealed to BJP leaders to leave the party if they want to save the country. “Narendra Modi ji ke netratva ke andar pure desh ko tabha karne ki koshish ki jaa raha hai… Jo log desh ko tabha karna chahte hain BJP mai raho aur jo log desh ko bachana chahte hain aaj hi BJP ko chhod do… (I want to appeal to all the BJP leaders…all the attempts to destroy India is going on under the leadership of Narendra Modi… if you don’t want to save this country, stay with BJP and if you want to save this country leave the party today itself.”
Kejriwal also alleged that the arrest of his deputy, Manish Sisodia, had ushered in a “new trend” of attempts at intimidating AAP MLAs with investigations.
“A new trend has started ever since Manish got arrested. MLAs are being threatened. Are you people afraid of going to jail? Manish is a disciple of Bhagat Singh. He is not scared of jail and their threats. If any of you are scared of going to jail, then leave AAP today. If you go to jail, I’ll take care of your family, I will give you a good lawyer and will get you out of jail. It may take 7-8 months, but don’t worry,” he said.
The CM also trained his guns at L-G VK Saxena and alleged that he has created many hindrances and stopped several projects and schemes, like the Finland teacher training and yoga classes, in the last eight months.
“Now he is trying hard to stop the electricity subsidy being given to the people of Delhi… The L-G lives in a palace and gets 1,000 units for free, but he has a problem if the people are getting just 200 free units. They even stopped the Delhi budget this year just to satisfy their ego…”
“The L-G in his maiden budget speech… said my government is good, it has done good work… I just want to tell you that we will give you more chances to expand your chest, if you don’t interfere in our work,” he said.
