The

millionaire visits Slovakia for the first time in their lives at the invitation of prominent politicians. What the Geissens didn’t expect: Everywhere they go, they are already eagerly awaited.

Getting to know the country and its people, going out for a nice meal and relaxing a bit – that’s how “Die Geissens” (new episodes every Monday, 8:15 p.m., on RTL II) imagined their stay in Slovakia. The adventures of the millionaire family are also broadcast there, but Carmen Geiss believes: “No one will know us there.”

For their part, the Geissens do not know Slovakia either. Davina Geiss makes no secret of it: “I’ve never heard of Slovakia. My friends have never been there,” she explains. Her sister Shania says: “It’s certainly very nice there, but of course that’s not our number one option – but we have no choice.” Together with their parents, they accept the invitation of Economics Minister Richard Sulik (who has since resigned). The Geissens had met him at the Expo in Dubai, where he had vigorously advertised a visit to his homeland.

“The whole of Slovakia knows you’re here!”

Travel to Bratislava by private jet. A large number of photographers, journalists and camera teams are already waiting for the family at the airport. At the first stop, a castle, even more fans gather around the German celebrity visitors. It’s almost impossible to think of moving forward, Robert, Carmen, Shania and Davina constantly have to stop for photos and give autographs.

Carmen is blown away: “I think we have more fans here than in Germany,” she marvels. Richard Sulik says that the country’s largest tabloid had announced the Geissens’ visit on the front page the day before: “The whole of Slovakia knows you’re here!”

However, the crowd of fans quickly becomes too much for Robert. “We’ll have to go hiking in the woods where there’s no one at some point,” he moans. A relaxed visit to a restaurant? None! There are fans everywhere and want a selfie with the Geissens. In addition, “der Richard” has prepared a tight program for his guests: around 100 appointments in less than a week.

Robert Geiss with a skull shirt in Parliament

Great honor: The Geissens get a tour in the Slovakian Parliament. In the hall of mirrors, even Shania and Davina are impressed: “Not everyone gets to see that,” they rejoice. However, Robert Geiss feels completely underdressed in the serious environment because he is wearing a skull and crossbones T-shirt from his own collection: “If I had known that we were coming here, I would have dressed differently,” he says, “I I haven’t prepared a speech either.” A photo at the parliamentary desk will have to suffice.

The 58-year-old thinks about his chances as a politician – and has a clear opinion on it: “A political career is not for me,” says Robert, “it’s really connected to work, and you have to behave every day. I need my freedom,” he says. His daughters Davina and Shania also have grave doubts about their father’s suitability as a statesman. Davina: “In the Principality of Monaco there is a monarchy …” – Shania: “… and dad is a dictatorship!”
