According to the civic body’s official bulletin, the supply chain will be suspended during the repair work between 8 am and 11 pm on Tuesday.
Several pockets in Andheri, Jogeshwari, and Goregaon in the western suburbs will face a water cut for nearly 15 hours on Tuesday (October 31) as a newly laid mains water line will be connected to the Versova outlet that day, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
According to the civic body’s official bulletin, the supply chain will be suspended during the repair work between 8 am and 11 pm on Tuesday.
A structural audit will also be conducted on Veravali 1 and 2 reservoirs — which supply water to all the major pockets in the suburbs — during this period, said BMC officials.
The entire K/East ward (covering Andheri East and Jogeshwari areas); K/West ward pockets such as Juhu, Moragaon, and Santacruze west; and Bandivali Hill will be affected during this period. Also, there will be no water supply in almost all pockets between Andheri and Goregaon, and low pressure supply in Bimbisar Nagar.
“Even though there will be water supply in some places, it would be safe to store an adequate amount beforehand as the water pressure could be very low, leading to an inadequate supply that day,” said a BMC official, requesting anonymity.
The civic body has also appealed to the residents to use water cautiously.
