The process of accepting documents from applicants for admission to universities in the 2023-2024 academic year has ended in Uzbekistan. 1,018,007 people submitted their applications to various higher educational institutions of the country, Podrobno.uz reports.
890,304 people were admitted to universities with Uzbek as language of instructions, 95,456 to universities with Russian as language of instructions, 29,917 to universities with Karakalpak as language of instructions, and 2,330 to other languages.
577,096 people will study full time, 24,802 in the evening, and 414 109 will be on distance learning.
The National University of Uzbekistan received 36,782 applications, the Tashkent State Transport University 30,421, the Fergana State University 29,941, the Tashkent State Pedagogical University 28,827, and the Karshi State University 28 417.
Among the regions with the highest numbers of applicants by place of permanent residence were Kashkadarya region (120,008 people), Samarkand region (114,180 people), Fergana region (94,999 people), Tashkent region (89,603 people), and UnSurkhandarya region (84,457 people).
